Town of Perinton · Fall 2026

What's changing in Fairport and Perinton this fall

Hearings, reviews and project status in Fairport and Perinton this fall, with meeting dates and how to vote on November 3.

The first hearings come soon: on Monday, October 5 at 7 pm, the Perinton Town Board holds hearings on pausing new housing projects in Egypt, the ECCO District and Bushnell's Basin. After that, a rezoning on Pittsford-Palmyra Road is heard October 19, three housing plans go to the Planning Board October 21, and the village is still settling its new zoning code. Each item below says how far along it is, because a hearing is not a decision and an approval is not a shovel in the ground.

Town of Perinton

  • A pause on new housing in three areas. Proposed local laws would pause approvals for residential development in the Hamlet of Egypt, the ECCO District and Bushnell's Basin. The hearings are Monday, October 5, 7 pm, at Town Hall. Nothing is in effect. More

  • Rezoning at 8146 & 8200 Pittsford-Palmyra Road. An application would change two parcels from Restricted Business to Industrial. The hearing is Monday, October 19, 7 pm, in the Town Hall Board Room, 1350 Turk Hill Road. No decision yet. More

  • The Place at Willowbrook. A multifamily site plan at 1407 & 1451 Pittsford-Victor Road is under review: the Conservation Board looks at it Tuesday, October 6, 7 pm, and the Planning Board Wednesday, October 21, 7 pm. Approval wouldn't mean construction has started. More

  • Two subdivisions. Also on October 21, the Planning Board holds hearings on Ayrault Townhomes on Ayrault Road and on Lilac Estates, which would divide a 12.5-acre property on Turk Hill Road into lots for five new homes. Neither has been approved.

  • Further along, not yet built. Hartwell Heights, near Thornell Road and Route 96, was approved May 20 for 24 rental homes. Powder Mill Apartments at 1151 Pittsford-Victor Road got its special use permit from the Town Board on August 3 but still needs other approvals. Neither has an announced construction start.

  • Shared-use trails at Thayer Hill and the Dewitt property. Only an idea so far: the town is gathering input, and nothing is approved. More

  • Town Hall and Community Center entrances. Work is under way: Town Hall entrances are open, and the Community Center main entrance is temporarily closed. No completion date is posted.

  • Solid waste permits. The town extended solid waste facility permits from five years to six between renewals.

Documents for the town's development reviews are on its Properties Under Review page.

Village of Fairport

  • New zoning code. The village adopted Chapter 551 on February 9, 2026. A September 28 Board work session reviewed concerns raised since; no outcome is posted. More

  • Main Street streetscape. Main Street reopened in November 2025 and the village held a ribbon cutting on November 21. Its July 2026 finance report says the project is still being finalized. More

  • Liftbridge Lane. The redesign of Liftbridge Lane East was stopped on November 13, 2023, in favor of repaving. Liftbridge Lane West and the Canal Walk were finished May 20, 2022.

County road and bridge work

  • Turk Hill Road bridge, 2027. Monroe County plans to repair the bridge over a Thomas Creek tributary north of Cobb's Lane from spring to fall 2027. The road stays open, but the ramp to the Erie Canal trail will close during the work. More

  • Ayrault Road repaving, 2026. The county lists Ayrault Road from Pittsford-Palmyra Road to Jefferson Avenue for resurfacing between spring and fall 2026.

Village meetings

All at Village Hall, 31 South Main Street:

  • Planning Board, Monday, October 5, 6 pm. No cases are listed, so it may not meet.

  • Village Board, Tuesday, October 13, 6 pm, with a citizen forum.

  • Board work session, Monday, October 26, 6 to 8 pm.

  • Zoning Board of Appeals, Wednesday, October 28, 6 pm.
