  5. Completed

Perinton may pause approvals for housing projects of five or more homes in the Hamlet of Egypt, the ECCO District and Bushnell's Basin. The Town Board holds public hearings on all three proposals Monday, October 5 at 7 pm; nothing is in effect yet.

Each of the three local laws would stop town approvals for those projects for up to six months while the town works on new zoning rules, or less if the Town Board ends the pause sooner by resolution. The drafts' titles still say one year, but the text says six months. Single homes, additions, fences, pools and sheds aren't covered, and projects that already have all their approvals could go ahead.

You can speak at the meeting at Town Hall, 1350 Turk Hill Road, or on Zoom, or send written comments to the Town Clerk by noon on October 5. The hearings are items 6, 7 and 8 on the agenda. Each draft maps its area's boundaries in an attached Exhibit A. The board ordered the hearings on September 9, 2026; it hasn't said whether it will vote the same night.
