How this guide works

What's on, what's open and what's changing in Fairport, from sources you can check.

Sources

Every fact on a page comes from a source you can open: the organizer for events, the place itself for hours, and the responsible public body for civic updates. Directory listings and search snippets are leads, never evidence.

Some business listings use place data from the Overture Maps Foundation (overturemaps.org), release 2026-09-23.1, available under the Community Data License Agreement, Permissive 2.0. Parts of that data come from Foursquare under the Apache License 2.0 (notice) and from AllThePlaces under CC0.

Area assignments use the U.S. Census Geocoder.

How this guide is kept current

Listings are gathered and updated automatically from public sources and are not reviewed one by one, so check with the organizer or business before you go, and tell us if something is wrong.

This guide is updated when we rebuild the site. This edition was built on Sunday, October 4, 12:02 PM EDT. When we rebuild, software, including AI tools, compares each source with what is published here.

Changes that need judgment, such as a new business or a canceled event, are checked against their source before they appear. Each page names its sources and the date they were last checked, and anything past its check-by date is marked as possibly out of date. The source is the authority: if a page here differs, follow the source. Then tell us with the “Suggest a correction” link on that page.

Unknown stays unknown: no end time is not “all day”, no price is not “free”, and missing hours are not “closed”.

Time

Listings are published as a snapshot. Your browser hides events that have ended and shows open-now badges using your current clock, in Fairport time.

“Main”

Distances are measured from Main Street Lift Bridge. Distances in this guide are measured from the Main Street lift bridge over the Erie Canal, the canal-side landmark the village itself uses to describe Fairport. It's a point to get your bearings from, not an official center. Sponsorship never influences this choice.

Walking times follow the sidewalks, paths and bridges mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so a place across the canal is as far as the nearest bridge makes it. They start from each place's street address, assume a steady adult pace of about 3 miles an hour (children and slower walkers take longer), and are rounded to the minute; a walk of more than half an hour shows its distance along the way instead. Places with no usable address point, and places added since the weekly update, show no distance until they have one. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (openstreetmap.org/copyright). The walking times themselves are published for reuse under the same license in walk.json.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship keeps the guide running. Sponsored content is always labeled, sits in its own slot, and never changes what is listed, the order of lists, distances, or any fact.

There are no sponsors at the moment.

Open data

Every page here is built from a published, digest-verified snapshot of the guide's records.

This guide is readable by AI agents. In a browser with built-in agent support (WebMCP), an assistant can search and read the same published records you see here, and every answer links back to the page it came from. The agent tools are read-only: they cannot change a listing, submit anything or see anything that is not already public on this site.

Subscribe

Add these to a calendar app or a feed reader. They update each time the guide is rebuilt.

Subscribe by interest

One calendar and one RSS feed for each kind of event. They carry the same events as the main calendar, so a calendar app will not show one twice.
