Solid waste facility permits in Perinton's Industrial zones will run up to six years between renewals instead of five, once the new law is filed with the New York Department of State. The Town Board adopted it, Local Law No. 5 of 2026, 4-0 on August 3, 2026, after a public hearing July 6.

The permits are issued by the Zoning Board of Appeals under Section 208-21 of the zoning law. The town says the law doesn't authorize any construction, expansion or change in how a facility operates.
