Perinton will catalog old paper records it has never indexed, within a grant period that runs October 5, 2026 to April 30, 2027. The town announced a $58,680 New York State Archives grant on September 14, and on September 21 the Town Board approved, 5-0, a contract with Control Central Inc. for up to $55,680, paid from that Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund grant.

The work covers a records inventory, a needs assessment and a retention schedule, and the index will be linked to the town's existing electronic files. The town calls it a first step toward digitizing the records later, and this won't make the old files searchable online yet.
