History stop on South Main Street near the site of DeLand's early saleratus works.

Village of Fairport

Stop 9 on the brochure map is just southeast of the lift bridge on South Main Street. The village and Town Historian identify DeLand as an early Fairport industry producing saleratus, a baking-powder-like product, shipped by rail and canal.
