# How to get village and town alerts

For alerts from the village and Fairport Electric, sign up with the [Fairport Alerts System](https://www.village.fairport.ny.us/quick_links/fairport_alerts_system/index.php), which runs on Everbridge. Once you have an account you pick topics, among them Village Board, Planning Board, Zoning Board, Historic Preservation, Fairport Electric, police, community alerts, and festivals and events, and choose email, text or a phone message. There's an Everbridge app too; search it for "Village of Fairport".

Perinton runs its own alerts, called PASS, by text, email or both. Sign up on the town's [PASS page](https://perinton.gov/pass/): the "Perinton Residents" option gets every town-wide alert, or you can choose single departments. Questions about PASS go to the town's Communications Director at (585) 223-0770.
