# Bushnell's Basin Docks

One-acre public dock area on the Erie Canal off Route 96 with overnight docks, fishing, picnic tables, restrooms and showers. DEC lists a hand launch here with parking for 15 cars.

## History

- The hamlet served as headquarters for building the Great Embankment that carried the canal over Irondequoit Creek (1821-1823), raising it as much as 70 feet.
